The story of The Club Hotel began in 1969 when Renzo Bongiovanni, a renowned architect, accompanied his brother-in-law on a trip to explore building a hospital in Santa Teresa di Gallura.
By chance, they arrived in Cala Battistoni – now known as Baja Sardinia – where in front of the sea on the future town square stood a hotel with a ‘For Sale’ sign. It was The Club Hotel.
This chance encounter changed the Bongiovanni family’s lives forever, though ironically the planned hospital in Santa Teresa was never built.
Those were pioneering times as the Emerald Coast began to develop and the Bongiovanni family’s passion and effort paved the way for the success of what would become the Baja Hotels Company.
Since 1995, Renzo’s son Marco has managed The Club Hotel, upholding a tradition of outstanding hospitality while relentlessly pursuing quality. Under his leadership, the hotel has built its reputation for excellence.
