Once the residence of the Italian Royals, who chose Villa Las Tronas for their holidays in Sardinia until the 1940s, the villa retains the historic atmosphere of an aristocratic retreat, renewing the tradition and charm of the ancient dwelling.
Surrounded on three sides by the crystal-clear waters of the bay, Villa Las Tronas, with its spa, set in a park of almost two hectares that separates it from the city seafront, is the ideal place for those who want to regenerate body and mind without giving up on social life: a few minutes walk separate it from the historical center of Alghero, its boutiques and restaurants.
The numerous piers of the Villa invite you to sunbathe and swim in the most comfortable and private way. Two seawater swimming pools, one outdoor with a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Alghero, the other heated and indoor for pampering during the winter, offer a relaxing experience throughout the year.

Villa Las Tronas is a charming 5-star hotel that is a symbol of Alghero, a delightful town on the north-western coast of Sardinia. It stands by the sea, on a promontory between Cala Lavatoio to the north and Cala Capone to the south. A centuries-old park separates it from the city’s seafront.
The name Las Tronas – which in the Algherese dialect means “the pulpits” – derives from the characteristic shape of some stacks that surround the Villa, now largely eroded by the sea. A spectacular position, a refined residence where history and tradition create a unique atmosphere, an experience that the most sensitive souls perceive and love.
This splendid villa by the sea in Alghero is unique in Sardinia. Built around 1880 at the initiative of Alessandro, the third Count of Sant’Elia, it is now one of the few private structures in Italy whose enclosing walls reach down to the sea. The villa was initially intended as a hunting lodge and later, around the 1920s, was renovated according to the tastes of the time, taking on a vaguely medieval castle-like form. The Villa was the meeting place in Sardinia for the best society of the time: the Romanov princesses and the Italian Royals were regular guests, in summer for sea baths, in winter for hunting. Two salons, gifts from the Romanovs to Don Luigi, still make a beautiful show in the Rosa Room on the ground floor.
In 1961, the Villa became an exclusive hotel: unique, permeated with the history and elegance of the personalities who appreciated its atmosphere and distance from any standard and reference.

Executive suite Maestrale: two large rooms, elegant and ample overlook the sea through the windows and from the spacious private terrace with a Jacuzzi pool, and a spectacular view of our sea. The Zefiro Executive Suite is available by special request only.
Spa is available to the guests all year round. It has a heated indoor pool filled with sea water with a temperature of over 28 ° C, that offers a view of Capo Caccia to the west and the bay of Alghero to the north. The pool is equipped for hydro-massage and counter current swimming. The sauna and Turkish bath are also available to complete a pleasurable stay in an atmosphere of complete relaxation and tranquillity.
The outdoor swimming pool offers a spectacular view of the gulf of Alghero from a small valley that shields you from indiscreet glances. It is filled with sea water, is not heated and is available during the summer months. During the winter months, the heated indoor pool of the Spa is available. It is also filled with sea water.

In the case of outdoor events, the cost of the necessary set-up will be added to the price of the menu. From May to October, banquets for more than 30 persons can be scheduled only at mid-day; from November to April, in the evening as well.
