Cavallo Island is located approximately 7 kilometers off the southern coast of Corsica, in the Strait of Bonifacio. It is a small, exclusive island that measures just 2.5 kilometers in length and 1 kilometer in width, and it is only accessible by boat or helicopter.
Please note that it is not permissible to reach Cavallo Island with any vehicle, including cars. You can only reach Cavallo Island from Corsica via Piantarella port using a mini-ferry with a fixed schedule, through a hotel boat transfer if you have booked accommodation at Hotel Des Pecheurs, or via a private boat that must be booked in advance. Alternatively, from Sardinia, you can reach the island through a hotel boat transfer (for guests who have booked accommodation at Hotel Des Pecheurs) or via a private boat, which must also be booked in advance. Another option is to book a helicopter transfer directly from the airport or any place in Corsica or Sardinia to Cavallo Island.
From Corsica
Fly into the Figari-Sud Corse Airport in Corsica, which is the closest airport to the island. We provide private transfer to the nearby port of Piantarella, which is about a 15-minute drive away. You can only reach Cavallo Island from the port by taking a small ferry or a private boat (which must be reserved in advance). However, if you have booked accommodation with us at Hotel Des Pecheurs, we will arrange and reserve your boat transfers to and from the hotel based on your arrival schedule.
The ferry ride from Piantarella to Cavallo Island takes about 15 minutes, and there are several departures per day during the high season (June to September). Tickets for 20€ per person one way can only be bought directly on the mini ferry.

From Sardinia
Fly into the Olbia – Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia. Transfer to the port of Santa Teresa di Gallura, which is about 1 hour drive away. From the port by a private boat to Cavallo Island, which have to be booked in advance.
The ride from Santa Teresa to Cavallo Island takes about 30 minutes, and time of pick up in the port has to be booked in advance. It can be shared private boat.

EXCURSIONS
During your stay at Cavallo Island, we offer private excursions to Corsica, including Bonifacio and/or Porto Vecchio, or to Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda. You can reach the mainland by taking a mini-ferry or private boat , and we arrange for transportation with a driver for excursions. Alternatively, we also offer panoramic tours via helicopter for a unique and breathtaking experience.
When taking a mini-ferry to or from Cavallo Island, it’s important to follow the fixed schedule to ensure that you arrive at the port on time. Similarly, all transfers to and from the island, whether by mini-ferry or private boat, as well as helicopter transfers, must be arranged in advance to ensure availability and to avoid any delays or inconveniences.
